Music Magazine Practical Day one

Today we discussed the genre, title and sell lines of our magazine. We decided to have a monthly issue of our magazine and for it to be mostly aimed at a 9-16 year old audience.
My group have decided to call our magazine "PopWave" and our genre for the music of our magazine to be pop. "PopWave" relates not only to the genre of our magazine is but also to the target audience.
Al
so, "PopWave" would need to appeal to both sexes as we would like to promote equal opportunity. So we have decided to have each issue appeal to a female audience then the next to a male audience.
We have also decided to have each member of our group to solely concentrate on one issue each. I will be focusing on the January issue.

As January is the first month of the year, the public would be expecting a 'New Years theme' so
the ideas I have so far for the issue is to have a traditional theme with many balloons surrounding the image and a "Countdown" clock in which the minute and hour hand are facing north. This is convey the 'New Year' in which many people get excited about every year.
I would like the model on the cover to be facing the front and looking straight at the camera, looking very happy and excited that it's the new year also carrying a party popper as though getting ready for the new year.

The sell lines on my January issue of "PopWave" is going to have:
"Something Vanessa doesn't want Zac to know!" feature with a small image beside the text. The image will be:
This image will mostly attract female audience as my issue are mainly based on this target audience.
Vanessa Hudgens is a very well known actress/singer who is famous for being in Disney's 'High School Musical'. She is also known for dating her co-star, Zac Efron, and the target audience will want to know the 'secret'.

Another of my sell lines is "Miley Cyrus' new years resolutions!"

Miley Cyrus is a very famous singer who is very well known by teenagers as playing the main role of "Hannah Montana" which is the popular TV show by Nickelodeon. The sell line also relates back to my theme as being for New Years Eve season.

Another of my sell lines is going to be a heading saying "Gorgeous Amanda Show's Drake Top 5 ways of Greeting Girls!" This is going to appeal to the audience mainly because this issue is based on female audience and can attract fans who have a crush on Drake.

My final sell line is going to be a free gift when buying "PopWave" which is a glamorous notebook and stylish pen. This will be another reason for teenagers would buy the magazine as it allows them to get cute freebies.

Music Magazine Practical

Day 1. Today we started looking at audiences for magazines and then we looked at music magazines, we then discussed the title, genre and what our magazines are going to have on the cover. We decided that the name of our magazine would be called 'PopWave', our target audience is people aged 9 to 16. 4 of us would have to design a different cover each for different months. I am going to design the October issue of the magazine, i am going to have a halloween theme e.g. the font could be green and have a 'blood-dripping' effect and i would put images of bats in the corner and cobwebs around the picture also. My issue of the magazine is going to give away a free pencil and rubber to the readers, it would also have a interview with Skandar Keynes from narnia which is exclusively only with PopWave.
My issue would also have fun, spooky halloween jokes and Daniel Radcliffe's top ten secrets.

music magazine practical day 1

Today we started to think of ideas about what audiences that we could appeal to when creating a magazine for example: Age, Gender, lifestyle, nationality etc.
We looked over some cover terminology which included The masthead, banner, cover lines etc which we are going to follow when creating our magazine covers ourselves. Then we looked at an existing magazine cover and analysed it by creating a stereotyped character that would possibly read this magazine.
We are now going to create a magazine front cover ourselves and we had a brief to follow when creating the elements for our cover. In my group there are  4 people and each of us will be focusing and producing different issues for different months, i am producing the December issue as i thought it would be fun to produce and i could associate the cover with Christmas. Our magazine is called 'Pop Wave' and the genre we chose to cover is POP and will be aimed at 9-16 year olds as this is the age group that i think would buy this magazine. Some of the sell lines i am going to be using on the front cover of my magazine to grab the readers attention is...
An interview with teenage heartthrob Zac Effron as young teens like him and will be interested about reading about him.

i am also going to include 'Spice Girls secrets from tour' as they are pop icons from back in the 90's and they have recently had a comeback tour which many people where interested in.

I am going to add in a free key chain as a promotional offer that may draw readers attention because as well as getting the magazine you get a free key chain as well.

Christmas chart toppers is going to be another sell line as because my issue is around Christmas time readers want to know what the up to date music chart is at the time.

I am also going to include the Jonas brothers who star in Camp rock as many teens worldwide recognise them and would like to read more on them.

Lastly on the front cover my model is going to be my sister and i am going to introduce her as a new pop sensation as i feel this is individual and unique. i am going to be taking the picture myself and going to incorporate elements of a Christmas feel to it as i am doing the December issue.

music magazine practical day 1

Today we started to look and think of facts about what audiences at the music magazines could appeal to when creating a magazine have eg nationality, gender, children, age, social grouping, lifestyle, format (fans) and more. Then we started to analysis and looked at some cover terminology which included masthead, banner, graphic, boxed text, main cover line, strapline and more. The music magazine we analysis in our gruop was called the Musics. Which then we had to talk about the cover the terminology in our gruop. We then was set a task to do which was to create are own music magazine and we are going to follow the terminology when creating our own magazine covers. Then we looked at an existing magazine cover and analysed it in the class by creating a stereotyped character that would possibly read that magazine. We are then toled to create a magazine front cover ourselves which we had a brief to follow when creating the elements for our magazine front cover.

Then we got into groups of four and started to create a magazine cover and each of us will be focusing and producing one different issues for each different months, and i am going to create the November's issue. In my group we decided to call are magazine "pop-wave" and it is a Pop magazineaimed at age groups between 09 to 16 years old. Also are magazine is going to be published monthly. I thought that the November issue will be particular interesting this is because it is a month of the colourful firework displays that take place around the UK and it is one of the best entertainment that makes kids interesting particular age groups between 09 to 16 years old. which means that I could associate the cover with fireworks.
I am going to add a free gift like a free CD of pop musics and small gifs that is aimed at 9 to 16 years old kids. in my issue of the magazine i will be interviewing Gabriella montez (Vanessa Anne Hudgensfrom) from the high school musicls
